No Train Rides To Moscow

Cold.Foreign.Woody Harrelson.Ben Kingsley join the cast of this Indie thriller (Transsiberian) about a couple who travels via train from China to Moscow with thrills and side stories along the way. They encounter a mysterious couple as bunk mates and later a visit from Sir Kingsley. It was entertaining, especially the suspense of a decent train thriller. You know something is not right about the couple but you cannot quite put your finger on what it is and are they connected to Kingsley in some way?

There are tasty ingredients in this one: confined settings on a train that add to the feeling of helplessness as the story unravels as well as the foreign, literally, surroundings with arctic temperatures that infuse a feeling a discomfort...those things as well as some moral uncertainty that Roy (WoodyHarrelson ) and Jessie (Emily Mortimer) find themselves in right up until the end. It is all very intriguing - I was left wondering what would I do in dark world of smuggling and betrayal.

Brad Anderson champions another decent feature after penning films like Session 9 (Follow an asbestos clean-up crew on an assignment to touch up a vacant mental hospital, but are they alone...watch it late at night!) and The Machinist, with Christian Bale.

I am throwing my thoughts together on this one b/c Heroes is on. Watch it if you're in the mood for a thriller!
