Cowboys On Bikes

A full season has come and gone for another homerun for the FX network: Sons of Anarchy. It is like the Sopranos on wheels, cowboys on bikes. This show caught me off guard with its premise and I hesitated to use my DVR space to begin watching it, but thank you HD On Demand. The first 3 episodes were enough to get me to set up all episodes on record and never look back.

Let's just say that Ron Pearlman masters the sleazeball, crooked ring leader (he is Tony Soprano) while we have the conflicted good guy who is soul searching through a mysterious manuscript left behind by his deceased father who was once the president of the biker gang: Sons of Anarchy. In true FX form the show is loyal to its predecessors who walked home with Emmy's and acknowledgement for their provokingly grey story lines and a mixed bag of ingredients. HBO's series pride themselves on pushing the envelope in realms of violence, moral, political, social and religious contexts and Anarchy as well as other FX shows (The Shield, Rescue Me, Nip/Tuck, It's Always Sunnny In Philadelphia) do the same.


4 out of 5 on this one...I am ready for Season 2! Go to Hulu and type in 'Sons of Anarchy Pilot'. It is a free registration b/c the show is for mature audiences only(language and violence).
